Apply in confidence →Top-tier US law firm is seeking a senior Compensation & Benefits attorney to join its ERISA and employee benefits team in New York. The role focuses on tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans, including plan design, administration, compliance and related regulatory matters.
Typical responsibilities include counseling on ERISA compliance, drafting plan documents and participant disclosures, handling compliance testing and IRS/DOL filings and audits, managing correction matters, and advising on benefit plan issues in M&A and other transactions. Experience with ESOPs and plan asset rules is a plus.

- At least 6 years’ post-qualification experience advising on tax-qualified retirement plans and health and welfare plans (ERISA).
- Proven experience drafting plan documents and disclosures, conducting compliance testing, and managing IRS and DOL filings/audits and correction matters.
- Experience counseling on benefit issues in M&A and other transactions; ESOP and plan-asset experience preferred.
- Strong academic credentials with excellent writing, oral communication and analytical skills.
