Apply in confidence →Senior associate/counsel role on a national energy and climate tax team focused on transactional tax matters for power and clean-technology projects. The role supports sponsors, developers and investors across project structuring, tax credit issues and related finance work.
The hire will work closely with energy tax leaders and collaborate with corporate, debt and securitization colleagues on project finance matters. Preferred locations include San Francisco, with consideration for New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and Seattle; multiple U.S. offices are possible.
- 6+ years of federal tax and tax-equity transactional experience at a national law firm
- Substantive experience with tax equity partnership transactions, inverted lease and sale-leaseback structures, equipment safe-harbor, and tax credit transfer transactions
- Proven ability to provide written tax advice on federal tax credit matters
- Experience in renewable and clean-energy sectors (e.g. wind, solar, storage, geothermal, nuclear, advanced manufacturing, EV charging) preferred; sponsor-side project experience ideal, investor-side lawyers open to retooling
