Patent Litigation Associate

An Am Law 100 firm is seeking an associate with 2+ years of patent litigation experience and a technology or life sciences background to join its patent litigation practice. The group handles the full range of intellectual property services in the global technology marketplace, with a focus on patent litigation.

The associate will prepare and try patent matters and Markman hearings, conduct technical analysis of products and patents, manage discovery, work with experts, take and defend depositions, and draft pleadings and motions. The role involves developing and executing litigation strategies that align with clients' business goals, whether enforcing patent rights or defending against infringement claims.

Collaboration with team members is central to the role, and the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with its published guidelines. The position is open across multiple office locations and is bonus eligible.

• 2+ years of patent litigation experience
• JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admitted to practice in California, Massachusetts, New York, or Washington, DC
• Patent litigation experience in district court and/or before the International Trade Commission
• A technology background in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field, or a life sciences background in biology, immunology, biochemistry, or a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
• Professionalism in engaging with clients
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
